Phase 3 fire alarm upgrade in an active federal medical facility — ONYX system update, decommissioning coordination, zero impact to patient care.
Project consisted of close daily coordination with building maintenance staff to complete the decommissioning and recommissioning of several areas throughout the building. Added speakers and strobes as needed. Also included an update to the ONYX system and graphics panel in the main fire command area, as well as complete system drawings.
Decommissioning & Recommissioning — Close daily coordination with hospital building maintenance to decommission and recommission affected areas — sequenced against clinical operations so patient care never paused.
Notification Devices — Added speakers and strobes as needed to bring affected areas up to current code — every device labeled, tested, and recorded in the as-built.
ONYX Panel Update — Update to the Honeywell ONYX fire alarm panel in the main fire command area, including the graphics panel and complete system drawings reflecting the new layout.
AHJ Coordination — Walked the building with the AHJ for final inspection — every change supervised, every device addressed, every drawing stamped.
