[ Overview ]

The California Natural Resources Agency consolidated multiple departments into a new 21-story headquarters in Downtown Sacramento. Walker delivered the structured cabling, in-building wireless, AV systems integration, and security cabling — a vertical infrastructure build engineered for predictable performance from the basement comms room to the executive floor.

[ Scope of Work ]

  • Vertical Cabling PlantMDF in the basement, IDFs every floor, riser fiber backbone, and Cat 6A horizontal to every workstation and conference room. Every closet labeled to a single spec, every link tested before the floor lit up.

  • In-Building WirelessWi-Fi deployment across all 21 floors with coverage tuned per zone — open-plan, executive, lab, and conferencing — plus DAS infrastructure for in-building cellular coverage.

  • Audio VisualConferencing systems, presentation displays, digital signage networks, and executive AV — coordinated with state IT and the building operator from design through commissioning.

  • Security InfrastructureCamera, access control, and intrusion detection cabling — segregated VLAN paths and federal-grade hardening for a state HQ.
