21 stories of state-grade communications and security infrastructure for the California Natural Resources Agency — Downtown Sacramento.
The California Natural Resources Agency consolidated multiple departments into a new 21-story headquarters in Downtown Sacramento. Walker delivered the structured cabling, in-building wireless, AV systems integration, and security cabling — a vertical infrastructure build engineered for predictable performance from the basement comms room to the executive floor.
Vertical Cabling Plant — MDF in the basement, IDFs every floor, riser fiber backbone, and Cat 6A horizontal to every workstation and conference room. Every closet labeled to a single spec, every link tested before the floor lit up.
In-Building Wireless — Wi-Fi deployment across all 21 floors with coverage tuned per zone — open-plan, executive, lab, and conferencing — plus DAS infrastructure for in-building cellular coverage.
Audio Visual — Conferencing systems, presentation displays, digital signage networks, and executive AV — coordinated with state IT and the building operator from design through commissioning.
Security Infrastructure — Camera, access control, and intrusion detection cabling — segregated VLAN paths and federal-grade hardening for a state HQ.
